Lennox Fan Motor on Outside AC Unit Reverses Itself

Keep in mind: Correct fan direction is Counter-clockwise to blow air out the top! Fan motor actually reverses itself when compressor kicks in. When it was turned on first time initially, the fan and compressor both came on at the same time. I shut it off after a brief period, then turned it back on shortly. Mystery #1: In most compressor, the entire unit will not come on until the pressure inside the compressor is released to prevent a back-up. The fan in this unit came on independently (this time spinning the correct direction). Mystery #2: As soon as the compressor came on, the fan reversed itself. What gives? The unit cools fine, thermostat is working properly. I do not know if the fan is OEM (usually designed to go in only 1 direction) or aftermarket (universal type that spins both ways). Cap has been replaced also.
