Running the Tesla CD Turbine Prototype With Saw Attachment
This is the crazy movie where the magnetic Tesla CD Turbine began. This prototype CD Turbine with a real Skilsaw blade attached, gets run up to speed big time on120 psi air pressure... The CD Turbine actually works way better than expected, and both of us are left screaming as I scramble to shut down the air compressor before the pressure goes up more! This Tesla CD Turbine is made from recycled CD's and CD case with a nozzle glued on. Neodymium magnets act as both disc spacers and drive magnets. The Skilsaw blade has magnets attached to it, which spin with the turbine, but on the outside of the case. By some magnetic miracle which I am still analysing, the Tesla CD Turbine with Blade holds together. (Aside from a CD part flinging off at the beginning, and some mysterious melted plastic on the top of the CD case ;) And I live to do the next video, entitled "Running The Tesla CD Turbine to Catastrophic Failure" www.youtube.com I think you can guess what happens next... :( The Tesla CD Turbine web site: www.cdturbine.com To learn how to build Tesla CD Turbines, visit my Instructables site at www.instructables.com Mrfixitrick orders the best neodymium super-magnets from: www.kjmagnetics.com

Recirculating Tesla CD Turbine with Power Boost Blender
Another adventure with Mrfixitrick and the Tesla CD Turbine. This time, a blender is shown with the CD Turbine in a powerful, self-contained recirculating system. The Tesla CD Turbine is a home-made turbine based on the principles of the Tesla Turbine, invented by Nikola Tesla over 100 years ago. This CD Turbine is made from recycled CD's, CD cakebox, neodymium magnets and lots of glue. In this example, both water and air pressure are used at the same time, as an extra power boost for tough blending chores! And it's all done without power from the grid or running tap water. Solar power charges a 12-volt battery. The battery runs both a 12-volt bilge pump in a recirculating bucket, and a 12-volt air compressor for an air storage tank. Turbine Engine: full power ... LOUD!
This is more film of the GE LM1500 gas turbine engine running at the S&S Turbines open-air test cell. All the noise in the beginning is made by the start cart, which is a 90Hp turbine engine. Even when you hear the LM1500 start to wind up, it's not even running until you see the heat waves coming out the back of it. This happens when the operator opens the fuel valve at around 2000 rpm. In the middle of the video, when the noise in an unbearable shriek, the engine is turning just over 7000 rpm, and is blowing hot air out the jetpipe to the tune of a little more than 15 thousand horsepower. The air flow through the engine at full power is about 150 pounds per second. In the view of the control room screen, the numbers are as follows from left to right along the top of the screen: EGT or exhaust gas temperature in degrees Celsius, measured just after the last stage of the turbine, which is just behind the second green steel frame holding the engine. Next is RPM. This engine has basically one rotating shaft, and you can just barely see the 1st stage compressor blades moving on shutdown. Engine RPM is of this common shaft, upon which all compressor and turbine stages are mounted. 5000 rpm is idle speed for this engine. Last, on the right, is lube oil pressure, in pounds per square inch. These engines have roller bearings, not journal bearings like a car engine, so oil pressure is mainly an indication of oil flow. A lot of flow is needed, because the oil is used as a coolant ...
